Where do cashews come from?

Cashews come from this fruit right on my hand. This fruit is called ‘marañón’ and in English apparently is called cashew as well.

But, cashew is the fruit and cashew nut is what most of us know.

To get the cashew nut from the cashew you cut the green nut (the other part of the cashew that looks like a pear, it’s sweet and you can eat it just like that or make juice or jelly).

Then you burn all the green nuts until they are like coal. You break the coal and you will find inside a cashew nut.

I learned how to find the cashew nuts at my grandmother’s. 💙
