Powerful reasons to disconnect

My last birthday we (my family and I) went to San Ignacio, Chalatenango, El Salvador.

I disconnected that day against my will because my cellphone had no signal. What it hurt me the most was that I couldn’t check-in on Foursquare (now Swarm).

But now that I see it, it was better that way. I, now, have the best memories with my family on my birthday because I was paying attention to them.

I was able to enjoy a day with them, walk miles with them, rest under a tree and next to a river with them, visit strawberry fields with them, pick the greenest spinach with them, sleep in a hammock each when the weather was cold af with them, eat a quesadilla and drink coffee at 4pm with them and having the ability to remember all of what I live with them.

So, yeah, disconnecting is awesome when you have powerful reasons to do it.

This time I have another powerful reason to do it. I hope I can tell you all about it anytime soon.

Also, my last birthday present was this amazing day with my family. I have no idea about this year, but two things I’m sure.

1) When it’s 8pm I will be in front of a TV watching Game of Thrones season 5 premiere at HBO.

2) It’s not even my birthday month and I got a brand new gadget as a birthday gift! I’m loving it a lot! Can’t wait to show it to you!
