I just need to say that I was hoping this walk of atonement was the fair punishment for Cersei, because she has been a bad girl since the first season. But, at the end of the walk, I couldn’t feel happy because she paid. I was feeling her. That girl Lena Headey is a terrific actress and made me feel sorry for Cersei.
After this scene, I started to thinking what all of this meant. I mean, it’s pretty much when some popular person in real life makes a mistake and says he or she is sorry in public. Everyone starts to scream and say shit about it. And that somehow makes us feel better, seen someone else falling down makes us feel better and we feel the need to scream at their faces that they, indeed, screwed up.
But at the end of the day, these people don’t lose their popularity, money or power. Your words or actions didn’t actually affect them. And that is exactly what happens with Cersei.
You may have made fun of her, you may have spit on her face, you may have embarrased her until you made her cry, but she is still the queen regent, she is still a Lannister, she is still a lion and she has more power than any of the people who screamed at her she was a whore.
