Milestones that made me happy this May 2018

May was wild! To start, this blog turned 10 YEARS OLD! 10 years, can you imagine? I’ve been writing for 10 years and I keep enjoying this so much that I don’t think I’m stopping soon! ❤

My brother came to visit us, too! It was a great mother’s day gift for my mom and our family worked what we had pending. We updated our family photo after 24 years and I got to understand what having a brother means. He went far away when I was 4 years, so I always knew I had a brother but I haven’t had the chance to experience what having a brother means. Thank God I could live that!

Do you know what my favorite night as siblings was? The night where I was working in the living room on my Applied Geology reports, I was doing calculations with my notebook and writing all data on my Mac… next to me, was my brother, he had his audiophones and he was doing stuff on his phone. We were together but we were doing our things, he respected my activities so much, I respected his privacy so much but we wanted to be together that night. That felt amazing. ❤

And, of course, we had a lot of talks, laughs, hugs and stuff, we talked so much that he even advised me to start doing live transmissions. After a while to consider pros and cons, I’m thinking of giving it a shot! I’m a little nervous but also excited.

Last but not least, my semester is coming to and end and I must confess this semester’s strategy SUCKED BIG TIME! I’m saving everything in the next couple of weeks. I’m so stressed and I have something due every single day from now on!

Anyways, that’s not the best paragraph ever but that’s my May! ❤

300 followers on Tumblr!

I think there’s a lot of people over here considering my Tumblr feeds from my other profiles! I’m forever grateful you want to keep in touch with me through my Tumblr! If you decide to subscribe, you’re getting my most recent photos and my most recent posts! ❤

I know I already mentioned it but it is such a great number of weeks writing posts! I had no idea what was going to happen when I opened my blog but I knew I wanted to give it a try. And here I am, 10 years later still creating content and ideas to keep writing every week! ❤

Even though my priorities have change, I still have that thing in the back of my mind that I need to publish something on my blog. And I’ve found a way to keep updating it while having a healthy balance in my life outside the computer.

That’s a thing that took me years to understand, even though documenting your life is very important, specially if you’re trying to build something cool, what’s more important is to actually live your life and being responsible with your commitments.

I opened a Twitch account!

Not a milestone per sè but as it’s my 10 year anniversary with my blog and I’m a big cycle believer, I thought I should give it a try!

See, 10 years ago my brother gave me a computer, its name was Lalo, and that computer had a program which had a blog option and I started blogging. 10 years later, almost same story, except I’m better at managing my time and sleep schedule, haha! ❤

I’m planning to play video games that I like and chat a little bit with you, guys, since it seems I can’t have a reunion with every single one of you, how about a reunion with all of you! I think it will be interesting and, also, you’ll help me get my golden trophy at Plants vs Zombies, haha! ❤

That’s it for May, let’s see what happens on June, yo!

9 Social Media lessons from +250k Social Media followers by Ramit Sethi.

1. People actually do want to know the personal side of your life. This was a big surprise to me BUT — although the world will push you to share everything about your life, you don’t have to.

2. Write about any of these topics to get 500+ comments: Your philosophy on tipping at restaurants, politics, parenting, or how little you paid for your wedding.

3. The world will push you to appeal to the lowest common denominator on social media. Resist it! If I post a random pic of a beach, I get a ton of likes. If I post a carefully constructed argument, I get 1/100th the engagement. This explains why there are so many damn pics of sushi and Cabo online. It’s fine to post vacation pics, but there are a ton of smart people online who want to read intelligent stuff. They’re not as vocal as people who want bikini pics, but they’re out there. And those people are willing to pay for the best. (Hence and

4. If you write great stuff, people will read it. Our emails are several pages long. Our longest sales page is over 75 pages long. People love it. Don’t listen to people who say, “Nobody has an attention span anymore.”

5. If you write about, say, personal finance, the majority of your last 10 posts should be about personal finance. People want to put you in a bucket. Maybe you’re the “personal finance guy” or “the negotiation woman” or “the glute guy.” Try to have most of your last posts on-brand. (This is a rule I don’t always follow myself.)

6. A good rule of thumb to spot losers: if they have “bitcoin” in their bio. One year ago, they had “AI” in their bio. Two years ago, it was “Big Data.”

7. People are more honest on email than Twitter/Facebook. Sometimes I ask questions on Twitter and get back almost uniform responses (like when I asked if you’d mind if your partner made more than you). Sounds good! The only catch is … when I ask on email, I get back the absolute opposite responses. Turns out people are way more honest in email than on Twitter or Facebook. Try to guess why.

8. Never post a photo of your squat or a fitness photo. You will get 3,000 DMs correcting your form from people who should really log off Instagram and go for a walk.

This happened when I posted a squat photo a while back (comments), and on a recent Instagram photo.

LOL when you click the profiles of people giving unsolicited feedback, most of whom appear not to have seen the inside of a gym since the Nixon administration.

Milestones that made me happy this October

On October I realized how easy is to be happy in the future. See, I had to take one of the saddest decisions but I had to keep up with my life and that sadness was draining me.

I figured if I only capture happy moments, even though those happy moments last 3 seconds, those would be the only ones I’ll remember in the future. Said and done, I started taking pictures about everything this month, again.

I just couldn’t let the sadness took me down, specially when the finals are coming!

Thank God, I had the help of my friends, they kept me going and I must say, I think I’m surviving. ❤

So, besides the amazing friends I have in real life, I noticed my amazing friends in digital life helped me with the return to my happiness, too! You helped me reach two milestones this month, woohoo!

Milestones that made me happy this October.

+300 readers on WordPress.

I’m shock! I could never imagine +300 people would be interested in my photos or what I say! To be honest, I’m really grateful all of you are here, this is one of the most amazing surprises October gave me! Specially because I think I can’t post like before, I only can write once a week and the fact that you have found some value in my weekly post warmths my heart. ❤ Thank you!

+40 subscribers on YouTube.

This is another surprise! I had my account for FIVE YEARS and, literally, had 3 viewers the whole time (my mom and my two best friends!). I tried to join VEDAs and VLOGmas and stuff thinking that is what I needed to grow my channel and then, when nothing happened, I thought: FINE, I’ll just upload things to help with the visuals to my blog. I stopped thinking about growth and started thinking how can I give a better message on this blog… next thing I knew I had +30 people last month!

It seems like the best things always happen when I’m not paying attention. Instead of creeping around my YouTube channel and try a lot of things to make it grow, I’m taking it easy and uploading things just because I like them and want to use them to publish a post over here. Well, it seems that’s exactly what you guys like because in less than a month you made my channel grow to +40 subscribers, WOW! ❤

You can see the numbers here:

Thank you so much for teaching me that I have to be patient! ❤
Thank you so much for teaching me that the best things happen whenever they want to happen, not when I want them to happen! ❤
Thank you for your attention, your love and your decision to be here! ❤

Thank you for helping me get out of the sad spot I went in! 🙂
